RICHMOND - Governor Terry McAuliffe today announced that Favor TechConsulting, LLC (FTC), a leading provider of IT solutions to the federal government, will invest $1.65 million to expand in Virginia and establish its principal headquarters in Fairfax County. The City of Norfolk will host a new cabinet manufacturing company called Odessa Black Sea, and Affinity Group Underwriters will operate in Henrico County. Playgrounds Inc. will locate a plant in Fairfax County.

Petersburg - Virginia First Lady Susan Allen today officially welcomed New Millennium Studios at groundbreaking ceremonies in Petersburg. Announced last October and founded by Hollywood veterans Tim and Daphne Maxwell Reid, the 59-acre facility becomes Virginia's first full-service film studio. Armada/Hoffler Holding Company of Chesapeake will serve as the principal developer and contractor in the $11 million studio.

Front Royal - Governor George Allen today announced that Family Dollar Stores, Inc. will build a $43 million distribution center in Warren County, creating approximately 425 new jobs for the Shenandoah Valley. The 915,000 square foot facility will be located in the Cedarville Enterprise Zone and is expected to be completed by the end of 1997. Virginia successfully competed with Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia for the investment.

Hampton - Governor George Allen today announced that Bell Atlantic Plus, Inc., a subsidiary of Bell Atlantic Corporation, will open a new $26 million call center in the City of Hampton to provide innovative telemarketing services to its mid-Atlantic customers. The company will hire 700 new employees by April 1998, and will potentially hire an additional 200 by the end of next year. Virginia successfully competed with South Carolina for the investment.
