The Team

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is the state economic development authority for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Created in 1995, VEDP collaborates with local, regional, and state partners to encourage the expansion and diversification of Virginia’s economy. VEDP works to accomplish these objectives through a variety of activities, including marketing and lead generation; business retention, expansion, and attraction; trade development; business intelligence; competitive benchmarking; site development; performance-based incentives; and talent solutions.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking an Executive Assistant to provide administrative, technical, and programmatic support to the Senior Vice President of Policy and Strategic Partnerships and the Vice President of External Affairs. The successful candidate will have significant experience working in a collaborative, high-volume, fast-paced environment that requires strong attention to detail with minimal supervision. This person must be able to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects, communicate effectively, work well under pressure to meet deadlines, exhibit sound judgment in making decisions, and maintain confidentiality on sensitive matters.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking a Research Director to lead a team of five analysts and economists within the Research Division. The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking an experienced international business development professional to assist Virginia-based companies in generating international sales. This is a unique opportunity to work with a broad range of companies from the Northwest region of Virginia as they grow their export sales. By recruiting and managing a portfolio of companies to participate in VEDP International Trade’s programs and services, this position will consult with companies to provide advice and guidance on entering new international markets. This position will facilitate access to international trade development resources provided by VEDP, such as customized market research, international matchmaking, export compliance, and grants to help Virginia companies grow their international sales.

The Virginia Office of Education Economics (VOEE) housed within the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking a Data Analyst to support a portfolio of ongoing work that includes the development and analysis of data sets to examine Labor Supply/Demand, Career Pathways, Skills, and other areas of interest in education and workforce. Recently created through legislation, VOEE is tasked with providing a unified, consistent source of data and analysis on talent and education and labor market alignment. VOEE’s work will inform policy and practice changes and lead to innovation throughout the Commonwealth to improve outcomes for students, workers, and industry. This position is an opportunity to join this new team at VEDP and help build this first in the nation office.

This energetic self-starting individual is seeking on-the-job experience in economic development or public administration and will perform a variety of projects.

The selected intern will gain valuable experience working alongside a dedicated team and will play a supporting role in fulfilling the team’s primary responsibilities. The responsibilities of the intern may vary based on the applicant’s interest and experience.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking a Regional Business Outreach Manager for its Regional Talent Solutions and Business Outreach Division. This position will conduct business outreach, representing VEDP, to assist growing Virginia companies with their recruitment and training needs and help companies leverage available programs to support their growth.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking a Supply Chain Program Specialist to assist with program outreach and provide administrative support to Virginia businesses wishing to optimize their supply chain management processes through Virginia’s Supply Chain Optimization Program. This position will report to and support the Supply Chain Program Manager.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking a Cartographer to create and maintain cartographic products that help clients and staff understand the strengths of Virginia as a business location and secure new jobs and investment for the Commonwealth. One of the few state economic development organizations with an in-house GIS team, VEDP is on the forefront of using cartography and other data visuals to develop compelling client materials.

This position will conduct business outreach, representing VEDP, to assist growing Virginia companies with their recruitment and training needs and help companies leverage available programs to support their growth.

VEDP is seeking to hire an Executive Vice President (EVP) who will play a central role in achieving VEDP’s transformational economic development goals by strategically leading enhancements in the design and implementation of VEDP’s business investment, research, incentives, and marketing functions.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking an Events Manager to manage all aspects of events for the organization. This position will be responsible for coordinating logistical components of VEDP’s events, including trade shows, marketing missions, site selection consultant events, conferences, and familiarization tours.

The Vice President of Incentives (VP) will lead VEDP’s Division of Incentives, established in the Code of Virginia, with responsibility for reviewing, vetting, tracking, and coordinating economic development incentives administered by VEDP and aligning those incentives with economic development incentives offered by other entities in the Commonwealth.
