RICHMOND - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that Barber & Ross Company will expand and relocate its Leesburg, Virginia headquarters and manufacturing operation to a larger facility in Frederick County. The company’s decision creates 100 new jobs and saves 375 existing Virginia jobs, which will be relocated to the new, 250,000-square-foot office and manufacturing facility on 25 acres in Frederick County. The company will also invest $13 million in real estate and equipment. Virginia successfully competed with West Virginia for the project.

RICHMOND - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that Trex Company, Inc., the nation’s largest manufacturer of alternative decking products, has expanded its headquarters operations in Frederick County. Through a $10.9 million investment, the company has added a plastics recycling production line and created 36 new jobs. To support the expansion, Virginia’s Department of Rail and Public Transportation has approved a $300,000 grant from its Railroad Industrial Assess Program to bring more than 2,000 feet of rail track to the company’s manufacturing plant.

RICHMOND - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that CarMax, Inc. (NYSE: KMX), the nation's leading specialty retailer of used cars, will relocate its corporate headquarters, with almost 600 employees, to Goochland County's West Creek Business Park within the next two to three years. CarMax will construct a new headquarters in West Creek. 

RICHMOND - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that Cardinal Glass Industries has selected Roanoke County for its first Virginia facility. The 220,000-square-foot plant will manufacture insulating glass. Through a $23.9 million investment, the project will create 200 new jobs during the first 30 months of operation. The building has been designed to accommodate a 102,000-square-foot expansion – and 100 additional employees – within five years. Cardinal Glass plans to locate the new facility in the Town of Vinton’s Vinton Business Center.

RICHMOND - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that HCA will expand operations at its Patient Account Services Center in the Boulders office complex in Chesterfield County. The expansion will bring 160 new jobs with an annual payroll of $4.8 million. Virginia successfully competed with Georgia and Tennessee for the project. 

BLAND COUNTY - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that ABB Inc. will expand its Small Power Transformer manufacturing operations in Bland County. The project will create 75 new jobs through a $3 million investment. Virginia successfully competed with other locations, both international and domestic, for the project – which is one of the largest economic development announcements ever made in Bland County. Governor Warner discussed the expansion with senior ABB officials in Zurich, Switzerland during his trade mission to Europe in May 2003.

RICHMOND - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that DuPont Engineering Polymers will create 20 new jobs with a major new polymer plant in Chesterfield County. The plant will meet increasing demand for DuPont™ Zytel® HTN high-performance polyamide resins with 30-million pounds per year of capacity. Located adjacent to DuPont’s existing Richmond site in Chesterfield County, the new facility is scheduled for startup by the end of 2004. Virginia successfully competed with other states for the project.

Two-year export program provides resources to support international business expansion

RICHMOND - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that Lockheed Martin will build and operate a computer-based modeling, simulation, and integration center in the City of Suffolk’s Bridgeway Commerce Park. Through a $30 million investment, Lockheed Martin will create 50 jobs with above-average salaries for the city and the region over a three-year period. Virginia successfully competed with other states for the project.
