RICHMOND - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that Greenridge Environmental Corporation, a start-up environmental remediation firm, will create 165 new jobs over 30 months in Lunenburg County. The company’s $9.5 million investment is Lunenburg County’s largest corporate investment in over 10 years. Virginia successfully competed with Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Ontario, Canada for the project.

 

RICHMOND - The Virginia Economic Development Partnership’s (VEDP) Division of International Trade today announced plans to attend Medica 2002 to promote the export of Virginia products and services. In its 34th year, Medica is the world’s largest trade exposition for the international health services industry. The show will be held in Düsseldorf, Germany on November 20-23, 2002. VEDP’s Division of International Trade is inviting Virginia companies in the health services industry to join the state at this trade show to seek export opportunities.

RICHMOND - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that Red Oak E-Commerce Solutions, Inc. (ROES), a software and consulting firm for the insurance and workers’ compensation industry, will locate in Mecklenburg County’s Lakeside Commerce Park. The company will invest $3 million and create 40 new jobs over the next three years. Employees at the new facility will include software programmers, software engineers, project managers and customer support analysts.

RICHMOND - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that Forbes magazine will hold its 9th Annual CEO Forum at the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond on October 1-3, 2003.

FAIRFAX COUNTY - Governor Mark R. Warner today joined company officials to dedicate a new BAE SYSTEMS facility in Reston. The 130,000-square-foot complex, located at 11487 Sunset Hills Road, will serve as headquarters for the company’s Integrated Systems business. The $51.6 million capital investment will create nearly 1,000 jobs. New positions range from systems integration and development engineers to network and software engineers. 

 

RICHMOND - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that Lohmann Corporation will locate a new adhesive coatings plant in Orange County’s Thomas E. Lee Industrial Park. The company will create 30 new jobs through a $5.7 million investment. Virginia successfully competed with Kentucky for the project.

“I am pleased that Lohmann has chosen to locate its new facility in the Commonwealth,” said Governor Warner. “This significant investment is a vote of confidence in Virginia’s future and the hardworking citizens of this region.”

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY - Governor Mark R. Warner today joined company officials to celebrate the opening of the new Comcast Cable Communications, Inc. facility in Prince William County. The 100,000-square-foot facility, located in the Innovation@Prince William business park, will serve as a Comcast Technology Support Center. The $21.5 million capital investment will create 200 new jobs and preserve 75 existing Virginia jobs.

RICHMOND - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that Noland Company, a large distributor of mechanical equipment and supplies for construction and manufacturing, plans to locate a 200,000-square-foot distribution facility in Prince George County’s Industrial Park. The company will create 40 new jobs through an $8.5 million investment. Virginia successfully competed with North Carolina for the project.

EMPORIA - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that Creative Playthings, a manufacturer of residential wooden swing sets, will expand its operations in the City of Emporia. The company will invest $2.7 million in a 100,000-square-foot expansion, saving 160 existing jobs and creating 30 new jobs. Virginia successfully competed with North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts for the project. Governor Warner and made the announcement today at the Emporia-Greensville Industrial Development Corporation’s Existing Industry & Business Celebration.
