RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell announced today that Honeywell, a Fortune 100 manufacturing and technology company, will invest $27.5 million to add to its Advanced Fibers and Composites (AF&C) operation in Chesterfield County. AF&C manufactures the lightest, strongest polyethylene fiber available anywhere in the world, which is used for ballistic protection with the U.S. military and law enforcement agencies and in certain industrial applications. The project will create 50 new jobs.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell today announced that Laminate Technologies (LamTech), a manufacturer of customized laminated panels and fabricated components, will invest in excess of $2 million to establish an operation in Henry County, creating a minimum of 30 new jobs. The company is a supplier to many area kitchen cabinet manufacturers, and the Martinsville – Henry County location is strategically located to better serve its markets. Virginia successfully competed against North Carolina for the project.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell announced today that GSI Commerce, a leading provider of ecommerce and interactive marketing solutions, will invest approximately $1.5 million to expand in Henry County. The leased fulfillment facility will create more than 60 new jobs.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell today announced that Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, is considering a new advanced manufacturing facility at its Crosspointe location near Richmond, Va. The new factory would be an advanced blade manufacturing capability involving high-precision turbine blades for some of the world’s most sophisticated aircraft engines built by the company. Significant growth in the company’s aero engine order book provides the stimulus for this and other Rolls-Royce investments being made in America.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell announced today that Engility Holdings, Inc., a new company to be publicly traded, and subsidiary L-3 Services, Inc. (to be renamed “Engility Corporation”) will invest $6.5 million to locate its corporate headquarters in Fairfax County, following its spin-off from L-3 Communications Corporation. Engility Corporation is a leader in Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA), Training and Operational Support services for the Department of Defense and other U.S. Government agencies, as well as civil and international customers.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell announced today that Balchem Corporation (NASDAQ: BCPC) will make an initial investment of approximately $10 million to establish an operation in Alleghany County. The company will manufacture encapsulated ingredients for global applications in animal nutrition and health products, creating 55 new jobs over the next 2-3 years.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell announced today that DRS Technologies, Inc., a Finmeccanica Company, will be relocating its corporate headquarters from New Jersey to Arlington County. The company, recognized as one of the leading defense technology companies in the world, will be expanding its regional office to accommodate over 100 employees. The relocation and expansion costs will bring in excess of $10 million of capital investment to the region.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell announced today that Site Selection magazine has named Virginia the winner of its 2011 Competitiveness Award, which recognizes excellence on the part of a state-level economic development group. The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) was honored at an awards ceremony on April 23 at the Industrial Asset Management Council's spring 2012 Professional Forum in Austin, Texas.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell today announced that Carmeuse Lime & Stone, a manufacturer of a complete range of lime and limestone products for a variety of industries, will invest $45 million to expand its manufacturing operation in Frederick County. The project, which will include the installation of a new modern kiln to meet growing production demands, will create 25 new jobs.

GUTERSLOH, GERMANY - Governor Bob McDonnell today announced that Berryville Graphics, an affiliate of German-owned Bertelsmann AG, Europe’s largest media company, will invest $10.6 million to consolidate its book printing operations at its manufacturing facility and headquarters in the Town of Berryville in Clarke County. The Governor made the announcement following a meeting with Bertelsmann AG CEO Thomas Rabe in Gutersloh during his Europe Marketing Mission. The project will create 84 new jobs and save 81 jobs for Virginia.
