RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell announced today that Hollingsworth & Vose Company, a global manufacturer of advanced materials for filtration, battery, and industrial applications, will invest $6.1 million in its operation in Floyd County. The company will expand its existing facility to add manufacturing capacity to produce a product currently only manufactured in the U.K. Virginia successfully competed against Georgia and Massachusetts for the project, which will create 17 new jobs.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell today announced that Oceaneering International, Inc. (NYSE:OII), a global oilfield provider of engineered services and products primarily to the offshore oil and gas industry, with a focus on deepwater applications, will expand its presence into the City of Chesapeake. The company will consolidate its engineering, manufacturing, and administrative functions at a new, 150,000-square-foot facility to be developed by Armada Hoffler Properties, which will invest approximately $25 million to accommodate this expansion.

The Tobacco Region Opportunity Fund (TROF) provides performance-based monetary grants and loans to localities in Virginia’s tobacco-producing regions (34 counties and six cities in southern and southwestern Virginia as defined by the Virginia Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission). These grants and loans assist in the creation of new jobs and investments, whether through new business attraction or existing business expansion and are awarded at the Commission’s discretion.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell announced today that VFP, Inc., a producer of quality prefabricated structures to the telecommunications, power, and modular building industries, will invest $3.5 million to expand its manufacturing operation in Scott County. Virginia successfully competed against Tennessee for the project, which will create 50 new jobs.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell announced today today that Liaoyang Ningfeng Woodenware Co., Ltd., a Chinese furniture manufacturer, will invest $2.1 million to establish its first U.S. subsidiary, New Ridge, LLC, in Smyth County. The company will manufacture furniture components for the Chinese market, supply its European customers with finished products from the U.S., manufacture and sell products for the U.S. market, and expand into lumber production and export to China.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell announced today that Shearer’s Foods, one of the largest producers of private label salty snacks in North America, will invest $4.75 million to expand its operation in the City of Bristol, Virginia. The expansion will add a tortilla chip line to better serve the needs of customers in the Southeast U.S. Virginia successfully competed against Tennessee for the project, which will create approximately 20-25 new jobs.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell announced today that Greif (NYSE: GEF, GEF.B), a world leader in industrial packaging products and services, will invest $45 million in its operation in Amherst County. The plant upgrade includes technology improvements which will deliver significant reduction in energy consumed to produce paper products.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell today announced that Bassett Furniture Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq:BSET), a leading manufacturer and marketer of high quality, mid-priced home furnishings, will invest $1.5 million to expand its operations in Henry County. Over a three year period, the project will increase local manufacturing capacity and support operations, to grow the company’s custom casual dining business. The project will create 25 new jobs.

RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell announced today that Areva Inc., a leading nuclear energy company headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., will invest $26.3 million in its operations in the City of Lynchburg and Campbell County. The company will invest in highly advanced machinery and equipment to enhance research and development (R&D) capabilities, and elevate its competitiveness in advanced manufacturing.
