New trade office will assist Virginia companies in exporting

Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that First Data Resources, Inc. will expand operations in the City of Chesapeake. The company will invest $10 million for a new print and mail operation located at 1408 Stephanie Way. First Data anticipates creating up to 130 new jobs for the operation within the next three years. First Data opened a credit card personalization and distribution center in Chesapeake in April 1999.
Governor attends ribbon-cutting ceremony for $520 million facility
Prince William County, VA - Governor Jim Gilmore today attended the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for a state-of-the-art technology center built by America Online, Inc. (NYSE: AOL), the world's leading interactive services company, in Prince William County, Virginia. America Online initially broke ground on the facility in March 1999, and construction was completed in February 2000.

O'Sullivan Industries to employ 100 and invest $11 million in manufacturing plant
Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore has announced O'Sullivan Industries - Virginia, Inc., a manufacturer of ready-to-assemble furniture, will expand in Halifax County and hire 100 new employees. The company will invest $11 million in the project. The South Boston plant currently employs 600 people. Virginia successfully competed with Utah and Missouri for the investment.
Company to invest $28 million in manufacturing facility
Hong Kong - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced ACT MicroDevices will locate a $28 million manufacturing facility in Montgomery County. ACT, a company founded in 1996 by four Virginia Tech graduates, expects to create 300 new jobs over the next two and a half years. Virginia successfully competed with Pennsylvania for the investment.
Governor Gilmore announces CeoTronics to create 50 new jobs at new U.S. headquarters facility
Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that CeoTronics, a German manufacturer of audio, video and data communication systems, will move its U.S. headquarters from Carrollton, Texas to the City of Chesapeake. The company will invest up to $4 million and create 50 new jobs for Virginians. The Commonwealth successfully competed with Kansas and Texas for the investment.

Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that a group of Chilean business leaders will visit Northern Virginia to explore business opportunities with many of the Commonwealth's technology companies. Funded by the United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), the inward trade mission will take place June 19-20 with a major emphasis on e-commerce and international information technology.

Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced Litton TASC's decision to relocate its corporate headquarters from Reading, Mass. to Fairfax County. The company, a subsidiary of Litton Industries, will create 150 new jobs through a $3.1 million investment.
