Governor Gilmore announces 150 new jobs for Virginians

Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced Litton TASC's decision to relocate its corporate headquarters from Reading, Mass. to Fairfax County. The company, a subsidiary of Litton Industries, will create 150 new jobs through a $3.1 million investment.

Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that Evercel, a company that develops and manufactures rechargeable batteries and battery components for use in consumer products and electric vehicles, will locate Evercel's North America manufacturing operations in Newport News. The company will invest $25 million in the project and hire 180 new employees over the next three years. Virginia successfully competed with Connecticut for the investment.

Company will create 325 new jobs and invest $38.5 million

Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced Ace Hardware Corporation, an international retailer-owned cooperative of 5,100 stores in 50 states and 65 countries, will locate a major distribution center in Prince George County. The company will invest $38.5 million in the new facility while creating an estimated 325 new jobs. Virginia successfully competed with Kentucky and North Carolina for the investment.

Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore has announced Lawson Mardon Packaging, a Switzerland-based specialty packaging manufacturer will locate a new facility in Chesterfield, County, Virginia. The company will invest $45 million in the plant while creating up to 150 new jobs. Virginia successfully competed with North Carolina for the investment.

Company Technology Division to Create 500 New Jobs and Invest $30 Million

 

Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that EMCO, manufacturer of Forever® brand storm and screen doors, will locate a new manufacturing facility in Luray in Page County. The decision for Page County will result in 343 new jobs over the next two and a half years through EMCO's investment of $9.8 million. Virginia successfully competed with Pennsylvania for the investment.
