RICHMOND - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that Dan River Inc., a leading textile producer, will expand its facilities in the Town of Brookneal and the City of Danville. Approximately 85 new jobs will be added in Brookneal through a $2 million investment. The Danville facility will gain 50 new jobs through an investment of $4 million. Virginia successfully competed with several other states as Dan River evaluated the projects.
RICHMOND - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that Daston Corporation and Interstate Worldwide Relocation will both expand in Fairfax County. Daston Corporation, an IT consulting firm, will create 30 new jobs through a $1.5 million investment in McLean. Interstate Worldwide Relocation, a relocation management company, will create 30 new jobs and invest $1.2 million in its Springfield expansion.
RICHMOND - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that Unilever has selected its Suffolk manufacturing plant as its strategic site for United States tea production and will invest $15 million in the facility over the next 30 months, creating 65 new jobs.
“Unilever’s Lipton Tea plant has operated in Suffolk since 1955,” said Governor Gilmore. “The hard-working people of Suffolk have proven to be a great asset to the company’s success. I applaud this announcement of 65 new jobs in Hampton Roads.”
RICHMOND - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that BAE SYSTEMS will expand in Fairfax County. The company will create nearly 1,000 new jobs through an investment of $51.6 million. The new positions will range from systems integration and development engineers to network and software engineers. Virginia successfully competed with Maryland and Washington, D.C. for this investment.
RICHMOND - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that Basalt Fiber Company, a new manufacturing firm, will locate operations in the Town of South Hill. The company will occupy an existing building in the Northside Industrial Park and create 55 new jobs.

WorldCom invests $180 million in Loudoun County campus
RICHMOND - Governor Jim Gilmore today cited the significant expansion of WorldCom's presence at its corporate campus in Loudoun County with the assistance of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership. With the Commonwealth’s support, WorldCom has grown its expansion to an overall investment of $180 million, enabling the Company to house up to 8,000 employees at the campus as business dictates.
Governor Gilmore awards $900,000 in grants to secure new facility in Brunswick County
RICHMOND - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that Kraft Foods will expand its operation in Frederick County. Kraft will add 75 new production jobs at its facility in the Fort Collier Industrial Park. Through an investment of $29 million, Kraft will expand its production capabilities for its drinks, including Capri Sun.

RICHMOND - Governor Jim Gilmore announced today that Novozymes Biologicals, Inc., the market leader in the development and production of naturally occurring microorganisms for industrial, consumer and agriculture uses, has chosen the Roanoke County Center for Research & Technology for the relocation and expansion of its local research and manufacturing operation. The move from Salem will save 65 Virginia jobs and create 25 additional jobs.
RICHMOND - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that Advance Auto Parts will invest $14 million and create 234 new jobs at an additional facility in the City of Roanoke. This decision comes after the company’s recent announcement that it would be acquiring the 668 store Florida-based Discount Auto Parts.
