RICHMOND - Virginia Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that Danaher Power Solutions, a leading designer, manufacturer and provider of power quality and reliability products and services, will expand its operations in the Eastport Business Park in Henrico County. The expansion will create 180 new jobs and save 81 jobs through a $1.7 million investment. Virginia competed with Connecticut, Ohio, California and Texas for the expansion.
“Danaher Power Solutions illustrates the success of existing Virginia companies,” said Governor Warner. “I am pleased that the Commonwealth’s award-winning workforce services program will assist this manufacturing firm with its growth.”
Danaher Power Solutions is a wholly owned subsidiary of Danaher Corporation. The Danaher Corporation designs, manufactures and markets industrial and consumer products in two principal businesses: process and environmental controls and tools and components. With over 150 operating locations, Danaher has 19,000 associates located in 25 countries. The state-of-the-art Danaher Power Solutions facility in Eastport Business Park will manufacture and service products for four different product lines: Current Technology, Cyberex, Joslyn, and United Power.
“One reason Danaher Power Solutions selected the Virginia site was because of the vast resources available here,” says Eric Blackwell, VP Operations for Danaher Power Solutions. “The site overall is the most economical and practical location for our company to manufacture its current products and the location offers us future growth potential. We are pleased to be situated in an impressive community that displays such a strong business environment, one that we believe our customers will appreciate.”
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership, the Greater Richmond Partnership and the Henrico County Economic Development Authority assisted the company with its expansion decisions. The Virginia Department of Business Assistance will provide workforce training services.
