RICHMOND—The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) today announced the acceptance of 10 companies into its two-year Virginia Leaders in Export Trade (VALET) program. The VALET program assists companies in the Commonwealth that are committed to international exporting as a growth strategy. To participate, each business must meet both quantitative and qualitative selection criteria, and participating firms are chosen based on their dedication to growing export sales. To date, 368 Virginia companies have been accepted to participate in the VALET program.

RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that Mohawk Industries, Inc. (NYSE:MHK), the leading global manufacturer of residential and commercial flooring products, will invest $22.5 million to expand its operation in Carroll County. The company will add 19,000 square feet to its facility at 351 Floyd Pike in Hillsville and install new extrusion and loom equipment to increase production speed. Virginia successfully competed with other states for the project, which will retain 75 existing jobs and create 35 new jobs. 

RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that Laminate Technologies Inc. (LamTech), one of the largest privately held custom laminators in the United States, will invest $4 million to expand its manufacturing facility at 775 Industrial Park Drive in Henry County. The company will install a new automated hardwood plywood press line to increase capacity and production to serve its East Coast market. Virginia successfully competed with Ohio for the project, which will create 42 new jobs. 
 

RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that Intertape Polymer Group Inc. (IPG), a packaging products and systems company that supplies to retailers and manufacturers, will expand its manufacturing operation in Pittsylvania County to increase production for its e-retail packaging, coatings, and films. The company will add 30,000 square feet to its facility at 1101 Eagle Springs Road and act on a series of investments in production, operations, and capacity, totaling approximately $45 million over the next four years.

RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that pharmaceutical manufacturer Civica Inc. (Civica) will invest $124.5 million to establish its first in-house pharmaceutical manufacturing operation in the City of Petersburg. The project will create 186 new jobs.

RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that Tabet Manufacturing Company, Inc., a leading developer and manufacturer of large suite communications equipment and custom solutions for military and industrial customers, will invest $6.5 million to expand its operation in the City of Norfolk. The company will construct a new manufacturing facility adjacent to its current facility at 1336 Ballentine Boulevard to increase production capacity. Virginia successfully competed with Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina for the project, which will create 68 new jobs. 

RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that Crown Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: CCK), an industry leader in metal packaging technology, will invest $145 million to establish a manufacturing operation in Henry County. The company will build a 355,000-square-foot aluminum beverage can production facility in the Commonwealth Crossing Business Centre. Virginia successfully competed with North Carolina and South Carolina for the project, which will create 126 new jobs. 
 

Precision part manufacturer to expand operation with $1M investment

RICHMOND - Governor Terry McAuliffe today announced that Kosmo Machine Inc., a full service precision machine shop, will invest $1,000,000 in new equipment to increase production capacity at its manufacturing operation in Henrico County. The expansion will create 36 new jobs.

RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that Afton Scientific, LLC, an FDA-regulated pharmaceutical contract manufacturing company supporting the life sciences industry, will invest $500,000 to expand its operation in Albemarle County. The company will add 20 new jobs and 8,000 square feet to its facility at 2020 Avon Court to accommodate its 50 percent growth over the past year and expected similar growth in 2021.
