RICHMOND— Governor Ralph Northam today announced that Microsoft Corp. will invest $64 million to establish a new software development and R&D regional hub, which will create 1,500 new jobs. The company will occupy 400,000 square feet in the Reston Town Center in Fairfax County for its new location, anticipated to be ready for employees in summer 2021. The plans include a new retail space for engaging directly with customers. Governor Northam met with Microsoft on an economic development mission at its headquarters in Washington in 2019.

SUFFOLK—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that Amazon is continuing its investments in Virginia with the launch of two new, state-of-the-art operations facilities in Hampton Roads that will create 1,500 new jobs. Amazon will establish a multi-story robotics fulfillment center in the City of Suffolk, creating 1,000 new jobs, as well as a 650,000-square-foot processing center (cross-dock) in the City of Chesapeake, which will bring 500 new jobs. Both operations are anticipated to launch in 2021.
ABINGDON—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that 1901 Group, a leading provider of IT services for the public and private sectors, will invest $1.15 million in Washington County to establish its third Virginia operation, creating 150 new jobs. The new 1901 Group Operations Center at the Virginia Highlands Small Business Incubator in Abingdon will expand the company’s operational footprint and enhance its cloud-based internet technology services. Virginia successfully competed with Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and West Virginia for the project.
RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that Moore, a provider of marketing solutions, will invest over $31 million to establish Richmond Print Group in the former Colortree Group facility in Henrico County, creating 239 new jobs. The company will prioritize hiring the employees impacted by the abrupt closure of Colortree in June 2019, which laid off 240 people. In addition to direct mail service offerings, the company will manufacture envelopes at the new plant. Virginia successfully competed with Maryland and Massachusetts for the project.
