Cape Charles, VA - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that Energy Recovery, Inc. (ERI) has chosen the Cape Charles Sustainable Technology Park for its manufacturing and research and development operations. The company plans to hire 50 employees through a $2.5 million investment.

Taiwanese-based manufacturer will create up to 100 new jobs, invest more than $20 million in facility

Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that Eternal Technology Corporation, a Taiwan-based manufacturer of dry film photoresist materials, will locate a new facility in Chesterfield County. The Richmond metropolitan area will gain up to 100 new jobs and more than $20 million in investment from the project over the next several years.

BioInformatics Inc. to expand research operation 

RICHMOND - Governor Ralph Northam today announced that BioInformatics Inc., a provider of critical market intelligence to major suppliers serving the life science, analytical instrument, and clinical diagnostic markets, will invest $175,000 to expand in Ballston Tower in Arlington County. The project will create 27 new jobs.

Expansion will mean investment of $26 million, 1,200 new jobs; nearly 2,000 total jobs possible

Hampton - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced the expansion of the Gateway computer manufacturing facility in Hampton. The expansion will result in the creation of 1,200 new jobs and lead to an overall investment of over $26 million over the next three years. Nearly 2,000 new jobs may be created in the Hampton Roads and Peninsula regions as a result of Gateway¹s expansion.

Company's expansion will create more than 3,000 new jobs throughout Virginia this year

Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced Capital One's decision to expand its operations throughout the Commonwealth by more than 3,000 new jobs and 500,000 square feet during 1999. Capital One will create 2,010 additional jobs in Henrico County, 350 in Chesterfield County, 400 in Spotsylvania County, and 315 in Fairfax County.

Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that Tritex, LLC, a manufacturer of insulation materials, will locate its manufacturing operations near Independence in Grayson County. Tritex was formed after McAllister Mills and Robco Inc. formed a joint venture company to purchase a division of Partek Insulation AB of Turku, Finland. The new company will create 30 new jobs through a $4.4 million investment.

Ms. Jorgenson will immediately begin a national search for candidates qualified in the economic development profession to lead Virginia’s business recruitment and trade development efforts.
