RICHMOND - Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced that Ariake USA, Inc., one of the world’s largest providers of stocks, bouillons, and natural meat flavorings, will invest $18 million to expand its Harrisonburg manufacturing facility. The 58,000 square foot expansion will create 25 new jobs. Virginia successfully competed with Arkansas and China for the project.
RICHMOND - The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) today announced the acceptance of two Northern Virginia companies, Anystream, Inc. of Sterling, and Bode Technology, Inc. of Lorton, into its two-year Virginia Leaders in Export Trade (VALET) program. Launched in January 2002, the program assists exporters in the Commonwealth that have firmly established domestic operations and are committed to international exporting as an expansion strategy.
RICHMOND - Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced that The Matrixx Group, a supplier of compounded products to the plastics industry, will invest $9.85 million to open its first Virginia facility in the Bedford Center for Business, an industrial park jointly developed by Bedford County and the City of Bedford. The company, which will manufacture thermoplastic compounds, will create 40 new jobs. Virginia successfully competed with North Carolina and West Virginia for the project.
Appian to invest $28.4 million to expand headquarters, also retaining 600 existing jobs
RICHMOND - The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) today announced the acceptance of five new companies into the Accessing International Markets (AIM) export development program. The program, launched by VEDP in December 2005, helps Virginia companies pursue international leads in a new market overseas and realize the benefits of exporting. Based on a competitive quarterly application process, 20 companies will be accepted into the AIM program each year.
RICHMOND - Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced that Nestlé USA plans to invest $20 million to expand manufacturing capacity in Danville, creating 50 new jobs at its facility in Danville’s Airside Industrial Park. The company makes BUITONI® refrigerated pasta and sauces and NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® refrigerated cookie dough at the facility. Virginia successfully competed with Idaho and Wisconsin for the project.
RICHMOND - Governor Timothy M. Kaine and a delegation of more than 100 Virginia business and government leaders will participate April 22-28 on a trade mission to New Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai, India. Governor Kaine is scheduled to depart Sunday, April 15, for Japan and Hong Kong where he will conduct a series of confidential business recruitment meetings prior to joining the delegation.

RICHMOND - Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced a new distribution agreement between Lynchburg-based Trainikins, Inc. and IMI Co, Ltd. to sell the Japanese version of CPR Teddy™ in Japan. CPR Teddy™ is a non-threatening tool created to teach new parents how to save their baby if he or she chokes or stops breathing. Trainikins donated 30 CPR Teddy™ bears to Dr. Shigeaki Hinohara, Chairman of Tokyo’s St. Luke’s International Hospital, last week.
RICHMOND - Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced that Indage Group, India’s largest wine manufacturer and restaurant and hotel chain in Mumbai, India, plans to open five Indian restaurants and a headquarters operation in Virginia. Indage also will partner with Richmond restaurateur Jack Mehta to oversee management of his restaurant, India Garden & Grill, in Richmond. A memorandum of understanding between the restaurant owners was signed in Mumbai last night as part of a week-long trade mission organized by the Virginia Economic Development Partnership.
