RICHMOND - Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced that 1,000 jobs at Bristol Compressors will be saved through the purchase of Bristol Compressors by KPS Capital Partners, a New York-based investment firm. The KPS transaction will provide access to substantial capital to be invested in the further development of Bristol Compressors International, the company’s new name under KPS ownership. The Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Revitalization Commission and Washington County committed a combined $1 million to assist KPS with the transaction.
RICHMOND - Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced that Criticon, a data processing and preparation host, will invest $115 million to open a 150,000-square-foot co-location data storage center in the City of Harrisonburg. The project will create 25 new jobs paying an average $80,000 salary.

Kaine today announced that The Matrixx Group, a supplier of compounded products to the plastics industry, will invest $9.85 million to open its first Virginia facility in the Bedford Center for Business, an industrial park jointly developed by Bedford County and the City of Bedford. The company, which will manufacture thermoplastic compounds, will create 40 new jobs. Virginia successfully competed with North Carolina and West Virginia for the project.
Appian to invest $28.4 million to expand headquarters, also retaining 600 existing jobs
RICHMOND - The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) today announced the acceptance of five new companies into the Accessing International Markets (AIM) export development program. The program, launched by VEDP in December 2005, helps Virginia companies pursue international leads in a new market overseas and realize the benefits of exporting. Based on a competitive quarterly application process, 20 companies will be accepted into the AIM program each year.
