RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell today announced that Commonwealth Laminating & Coating, Inc. (CLC), a manufacturing company with a strong emphasis on solar-control window films and precision, high-performance coatings, will invest $5.45 million to expand its operation in Henry County. The company will create 60 new jobs. Virginia successfully competed against Arizona and North Carolina for the project.
RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell today announced that The Vitamin Shoppe, Inc. (NYSE: VSI), a leading specialty retailer and direct marketer of nutritional products, will establish a distribution operation in the Town of Ashland in Hanover County. The company will create 174 new jobs. The total project, including jobs, capital and indirect investments will be a commitment of $39.4 million. The Vitamin Shoppe will lease the building from Johnson Development, who will undertake the construction. Virginia successfully competed against North Carolina for the project.
RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell today announced that Aeroprobe Corporation, a manufacturer of high-accuracy instrumentation and software to capture air or other fluid flow data for applications in the turbomachinery, unmanned air vehicle, automotive, and wind turbine markets, will invest $2.2 million initially and $3 million over five years to move its headquarters from Blacksburg and locate a manufacturing operation in the Town of Christiansburg in Montgomery County.

The company helps businesses drag and drop together Facebook fan pages, mobile apps, and websites. The expansion is anticipated to create 50 new jobs over the next two years.
RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell today announced that Carded Graphics LLC, a manufacturer of quality folding cartons and packaging for some of the world's largest food, pharmaceutical and beverage manufacturers, will invest approximately $7.05 million to expand its operation in the City of Staunton. The company will create 34 new jobs. Virginia successfully competed against North Carolina for the project.
RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell announced today that McKesson Corporation, a leading healthcare services and information technology company, will invest $36.9 million to establish a new distribution operation in Frederick County. The company will distribute medical and surgical supplies to physician offices, surgery centers, long-term care facilities and home care businesses in a regional service area that includes New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, District of Columbia, Virginia, eastern West Virginia, and northern North Carolina.
RICHMOND - The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) today announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Virginia’s public institutions of higher education and the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) to undertake joint initiatives to best market Virginia to businesses that will create jobs and invest capital.
The MOU was signed today at a ceremony at the Patrick Henry Building in Richmond.
RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell announced today that WEIGHTPACK, Inc., a packaging machinery company that designs and builds complete lines for the filling and capping of liquid product containers, will invest $2.6 million to move its headquarters operation from Italy and expand its Powhatan County production facility. The project will ultimately create 35 new jobs.
RICHMOND - The Virginia Economic Development Partnership’s (VEDP) International Trade division today announced the release of “Exporting Services: A Guide for New Exporters.” VEDP-International Trade’s focus is to promote the exports of Virginia companies with the goal to grow jobs and increase the state’s tax base. In order to build on the strength of the state’s service sector to grow service exports and the high-paying jobs they support, VEDP developed the guide to exporting services as a resource to service companies.
RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell announced today that Celanese Corporation (NYSE: CE), a global technology and specialty materials company, will invest $150 million in its Giles County operation. The company, which manufactures cellulose acetate tow at the plant, will replace its coal-fired boilers with natural gas-fired boilers. The project, in conjunction with other efforts at the site, will enable creation of at least 22 full-time Celanese positions and will require approximately 200 construction workers.
