RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that SES, a Luxembourg-based telecommunications company, will invest $17 million to merge its satellite and network operations at a new facility in Prince William County. The company will consolidate operations, technology, engineering, and support functions at 8050 Piney Branch Lane, establishing a hub for the company’s technology and operations activities across the United States. Virginia successfully competed with Maryland and Washington, D.C. for the project, which will create up to 200 net new jobs by 2026.
RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that STS Group AG, a leading global system supplier of interior and exterior parts for commercial vehicles, will invest $39 million to establish its first U.S. manufacturing operation in Wythe County’s Progress Park. The new facility, operating as subsidiary STS Group North America, will supply Volvo Trucks in Pulaski County and other truck and automotive facilities throughout the Midwest and Southeastern U.S. markets. Virginia successfully competed with North Carolina for the project, which will create 120 new jobs.
RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that Katoen Natie Norfolk Inc., a plastics and polymers warehousing and distribution company and subsidiary of Katoen Natie, will invest $61 million to expand its freight distribution center in the City of Norfolk. The company will add a 243,000-square-foot warehouse and rail facility to its operation at 2424 Springfield Avenue and create 35 new jobs. Virginia successfully competed with Georgia, Maryland, and South Carolina for the project.
RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that SecureTech360, LLC, a small woman-, minority-, and service-disabled veteran-owned cybersecurity and information technology consulting firm, will invest $155,000 to expand in Fairfax County. The company will grow its presence in the healthcare IT and cybersecurity field to provide secure, scalable, and equitable healthcare solutions and products.
RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that Lawrence Brothers, Inc., an industry leader in battery tray fabrication and manufacturing of motive power trays, ground support systems, and transformer components, will invest $3.2 million to expand its operation in Tazewell County. The company will upgrade and modernize machinery and equipment to increase capacity and double production at its facility at 203 Lawrence Road, creating 40 new jobs.
RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that Ryzing Technologies, LLC, a designer and manufacturer of textile-based engineering solutions, will invest $149,000 to expand capabilities at its facility in the City of Staunton. The company serves the U.S. military and allied forces, as well as industrial, commercial, and governmental clients, specializing in engineered textiles, rigid inflatable structures, and rapid prototyping. This expansion project will create 31 new jobs.
RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that startup company Sunny Farms, LLC will invest $59.6 million to establish a state-of-the-art hydroponic greenhouse for production, workforce development, and research in the City of Virginia Beach. The company’s location at Taylor Farms will also house One Matters Inc., a new 501(c)(3), not-for-profit entity that will offer workforce development opportunities for underserved populations. Virginia successfully competed with Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina for the project, which will create 155 new jobs.
