RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that Braven Environmental, a leader in deriving fuel from landfill-bound plastic, will invest $31.7 million to establish a manufacturing operation in Cumberland County’s shell building. Virginia successfully competed with North Carolina and South Carolina for the project, which will create 52 new jobs. This is the first economic development announcement for Cumberland County since 2009.
 

RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that FerraTex Solutions, LLC, a leading provider of cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP) solutions, will purchase the former Compton Wood Products facility in the Bowles Industrial Park in Henry County. The company will invest approximately $1.95 million to renovate and expand the facility to accommodate increasing demand. FerraTex, a wholly owned subsidiary of Applied Felts Inc., will add 15 new jobs at the site located near the Martinsville Applied Felts operation, which has been in Martinsville since 1997 and employs 150 workers.

RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that ASGN Incorporated (NYSE:ASGN) will invest a total of $12.4 million to move its corporate headquarters from Calabasas, California to Henrico County and grow operations across the Commonwealth, creating a total of 700 new jobs and advancing Virginia’s economic recovery strategy.
 

RICHMOND - Governor Terry McAuliffe today announced that eleven companies from across the Commonwealth have graduated from the Virginia Economic Development Partnership’s (VEDP) Virginia Leaders in Export Trade (VALET) Program, touting impressive results from their newly acquired tools to successfully export products and services overseas. These companies increased their international sales by an average of 78 percent during their two years in the program, which was completed at the end of June. The VALET program now has 241 graduates.

NEWPORT NEWS—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that S23 Holdings, LLC and its affiliates, which include East Coast Repair and Fabrication (ECR), an industry leader in the marine, industrial, and commercial sectors, will invest $64.4 million to establish a corporate and industrial campus for ship repair, manufacturing, and to rehabilitate piers. Virginia successfully competed with Florida and Puerto Rico for the project, which will create 332 new jobs.
 

RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that Drake Extrusion, Inc., a subsidiary of Sweden-based Duroc AB and a manufacturer of colored filament yarn and staple fiber, will invest $6.9 million to expand its operation in Henry County. The company will establish an additional manufacturing facility in a vacant 120,000-square-foot building on Industrial Park Drive to accommodate its growing business in the polypropylene fibers market. Virginia successfully competed with North Carolina for the project, which will create 30 new jobs.

RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that Metalworx, Inc., a manufacturer of highly-engineered and precision-manufactured components, assemblies, and products for a variety of industries, will invest $7.6 million to relocate its headquarters and manufacturing functions from South Carolina to the former Core Fitness Complex in Grayson County. Virginia successfully competed with North Carolina for the project, which will create 59 new jobs.
 

RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that The Hershey Company will invest $135 million to expand its manufacturing operation in Augusta County. The company will increase production capacity at its existing facility in Stuarts Draft by 90,000 square feet and create 110 new jobs.
 

RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that Fleetwood Homes, a leading homebuilder and maker of manufactured homes, plans to invest $2.1 million, including $700,000 in new equipment, to renovate and expand its Rocky Mount facility. The project will create 60 new jobs in Franklin County.
