FARNBOROUGH - Governor Terry McAuliffe announced today that Overfinch, the world’s leading creator of bespoke Range Rover vehicles, will invest $1.82 million to establish a manufacturing operation in the City of Danville. The company plans to upfit Jaguar Land Rover vehicles, which will be sold to customers across the U.S. The investment includes an assembly and conversion workshop, vehicle servicing, diagnostics, and parts warehouse. Virginia successfully competed against California for the project, which will create 41 new jobs.
RICHMOND - The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) Board of Directors selected its new chair, C. Daniel Clemente of McLean, and vice chair, Vince Mastracco of Norfolk. Clemente and Mastracco were elected at VEDP’s board meeting on June 9, 2016. As a state authority, the Partnership is governed by a 24-member Board of Directors comprised of businesspersons from around the Commonwealth, each of whom is appointed by the Governor and the General Assembly.
RICHMOND - Governor Terry McAuliffe announced today that Phone2Action, a civic engagement software platform, will invest $150,000 to relocate from Washington, D.C., to Arlington County and expand its software operation. Launched in 2014, the company supplies social advocacy and civic engagement tools that connect constituents with their elected officials. The project will create 142 new jobs.
RICHMOND - Governor Terry McAuliffe announced today that SANJO Corte Fino, a fineblanking manufacturer based in Barcelona, Spain, will invest $17.5 million to establish its North American headquarters in the City of Virginia Beach. SANJO will supply specialty fineblanking metal components to STIHL Inc, also headquartered in Virginia Beach, as well as to tier-one automotive suppliers. Virginia successfully competed against Kentucky for the project, which will create 85 new jobs.
RICHMOND - Governor McAuliffe today announced that Frontier Secure, a division of Frontier Communications Corporation, will locate a customer care center in Wise County. The facility will provide customer and technical support for its clients. Virginia successfully competed against Georgia, Kansas and South Carolina for the project, which will create up to 500 new jobs.
RICHMOND - Governor McAuliffe today announced that Pacific Life Insurance Company will invest nearly $4 million to open a business center in the City of Lynchburg, expanding the company’s suite of innovative products and service capabilities. With this investment, the company completed an acquisition of the term life new business platform from Genworth Financial. The project will create 300 new jobs.
RICHMOND - Governor Terry McAuliffe announced today that Grant Thornton LLP, a leading U.S. professional-services firm, will invest $15.75 million to consolidate offices and grow its presence across the Northern Virginia region. Virginia successfully competed against Washington, D.C. for the project, which will retain 994 jobs and create 348 new jobs.
