Nine Virginia companies recognized for completing two-year international business acceleration program

RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that nine companies from across the Commonwealth have graduated from the Virginia Economic Development Partnership’s (VEDP) Virginia Leaders in Export Trade (VALET) program. The VALET program now has 276 graduates. The VALET program assists Virginia exporters that have firmly established their domestic operations and are committed to international exporting as a growth strategy.

Smyth County Machine, LLC to invest $2.1 million to expand manufacturing operation

ATKINS—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that Smyth County Machine, LLC, a full-service machining and fabrication facility, will invest $2.1 million to add equipment and expand its product line in Smyth County. Virginia successfully competed against Tennessee for the project, which will create 35 new jobs.

CareerBuilder investing $2.5 million to establish 20,000-square-foot call center and research facility

RICHMOND—Governor Ralph Northam today announced that CareerBuilder, the leading provider of Hello To Hire™ HR technology solutions to global employers and candidates, will invest $2.5 million to establish a 20,000-square-foot call center and research facility in Frederick County, creating 250 new jobs.
