RICHMOND - Governor Bob McDonnell announced today that iGATE, the first integrated technology and operations company providing Business Outcomes-based solutions, will invest $1.0156 million to establish a new facility in Loudoun County. The company will perform a wide range of technology consulting services for government agencies and businesses, and will offer design-build-operate-maintain services for Federal Government projects. The project will create 250 new jobs over the next two to three years.
Speaking about today’s announcement, Governor McDonnell said, “ iGATE’s new operation in Loudoun County will expand the company’s U.S. presence in the Washington D.C. metropolitan market. The Commonwealth was picked over other states considered due to our pro-business environment and proximity to an ample resource of skilled technical workers. We are thrilled to welcome another impressive technology company to Loudoun County and Virginia.”
“iGATE’s new Loudoun County operation gives the company the advantage to be close to its Federal Government customers and a pool of technology savvy employees,” said Jim Cheng, Virginia Secretary of Commerce and Trade. “International relationships are of utmost importance in a global marketplace, and Virginia’s marketing representative located in India had the opportunity to discuss this potential project with iGATE officials in Bangalore. I am confident that we will continue to build on this new corporate relationship and that the company will flourish in Loudoun County and the Commonwealth.”
“We are very excited to open this new facility in Virginia,” said Sean Narayanan, Chief Delivery Officer, iGATE. “We have been impressed with the business and government leaders in Virginia, the high caliber of the workforce, the excellent quality of life, and we look forward to positive, long-term growth and involvement in this area.”
“This facility enhances our ability to deliver top quality, innovative IT solutions to our government customers,” said Timothy Coffin, President, iGATE Government Solutions. “We are looking forward to building this team of experts to ensure we are supporting our customer’s mission.”
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with Loudoun County to secure the project for Virginia. Through its Virginia Jobs Investment Program, the Virginia Department of Business Assistance will provide funding and services to support the company’s recruitment and training activities.
“Establishing this facility in Loudoun County, the home of the Washington Dulles International Airport, gives iGATE access to 80 percent of the world’s economies – a key advantage to a global organization. In addition, with more than 900 federal government contractors located in Loudoun, and with almost 20 percent of the County’s workforce employed by the information and communications technology industry, doing business in Loudoun makes perfect sense for a company like iGATE,” said Loudoun County Board of Supervisors Chairman Scott K. York.
