RICHMOND - The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) today announced the acceptance of an Arlington company, SRA International, Inc., into its two-year Virginia Leaders in Export Trade (VALET) program. Launched in January 2002, the program assists exporters in the Commonwealth that have firmly established domestic operations and are committed to international exporting as an expansion strategy.

SRA International, Inc. joins the program as part of the 16th class of VALET companies. To participate, each eligible business must meet several quantitative criteria and complete an application process. Participating firms are chosen based on their dedication to growth through export. Currently, more than 100 Virginia companies have been accepted to participate in the VALET program.

SRA and its subsidiaries are dedicated to solving complex problems of global significance for government organizations serving the national security, civil government and global health markets. Founded in 1978, the company and its subsidiaries have expertise in such areas as air surveillance and air traffic management; contract research organization services; cybersecurity; disaster response planning; enterprise resource planning; environmental strategies; IT systems, infrastructure and managed services; logistics; public health preparedness; strategic management consulting; systems engineering; and wireless integration.

“We are very appreciative of this very special assistance from the VALET Program,” said Kay C. Goss, Senior Principal, Director of Emergency Management and Crisis Communications. “This kind of support from this national best practice program to our growing emergency management and crisis communications practice area is gratifying to our corporate leadership, our staff, and our potential clients who look forward to our engaging them on an international basis. This expansion of services could only be initiated through such a program of support and technical assistance.”

The VALET program incorporates services from a team of experienced international service providers who assist the VALET companies with their international goals. Service providers such as attorneys, Web designers, bankers, translators and freight-forwarders contribute essential skills for expansion into international markets.

“VALET welcomes SRA International into the program,” said Leslie Parpart, VALET Program Manager. “We look forward to working with its international team over the course of the next two years to assist the company in exceeding export goals.”
