RICHMOND - Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced that Inorganic Ventures, a leading manufacturer of custom inorganic chemical blends, will invest $3.025 million to move its operations from New Jersey to Falling Branch Corporate Park in Christiansburg. The project will create 46 jobs for Montgomery County. Virginia successfully competed with New Jersey and Pennsylvania for the project.
“Inorganic Ventures is a leading company on the cutting-edge of technology for its field,” Governor Kaine said. “Virginia was chosen as the company’s headquarters, manufacturing and distribution operations because of Montgomery County’s trained workforce and proximity to research opportunities with Virginia Tech.”
Inorganic Ventures is the leading custom inorganic chemical standards manufacturer in the United States, preparing custom and conventional chemical standards for companies around the world. Privately held and founded in 1990, Inorganic Ventures can prepare almost any inorganic chemical blend and can tailor the chemical blend to fit its customers’ specifications.
“As Inorganic Ventures considered its different relocation options, it was soon determined that Virginia’s Montgomery County Falling Branch Corporate Park best met its needs,” said Dr. Paul Gaines, CEO, and Linda Gaines, CFO, Inorganic Ventures. “The Park has plenty of electricity at an affordable price and high tech Internet connections, which are critical to Inorganic Ventures’ operation. The extensive shipping needs of the company are well served by the Park’s location, which is near I-81 and minutes from the Roanoke airport and a major UPS hub. There are multiple universities in the area where Inorganic Ventures can search for a high tech workforce. Plus the incentive package offered by Montgomery County and the state of Virginia, the lower cost of doing business and the quality of life in the area, were additional reasons behind the decision to relocate Inorganic Ventures to Virginia.”
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with the Town of Christiansburg, Montgomery County and the New River Valley Economic Development Alliance to secure the project for Virginia. Governor Kaine approved $100,000 from the Governor’s Opportunity Fund to assist Montgomery County with the project. The Virginia Department of Business Assistance will provide training assistance through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program.
“We are very pleased a respected company such as Inorganic Ventures Inc. has selected our Falling Branch Park to re-locate and establish its new corporate headquarters, laboratories and manufacturing facility,” said Annette Perkins, Chairwoman of Montgomery County Board of Supervisors. “This facility will diversify and enhance our local bio-tech manufacturing cluster, a strategic objective of our economic development program.”
