RICHMOND - Governor Timothy M. Kaine today announced that Arrow Truck Sales will open a facility in the Branwick Center in Floyd County, creating 25 new jobs.
“Arrow Truck Sales is a great addition to Virginia and Floyd County,” said Governor Kaine. “The New River Valley region boasts a growing automotive cluster, and I am confident that as a provider of recycled truck parts, Arrow will be a comfortable fit in the area.”
Arrow Truck Sales is one of the largest sellers of heavy-duty and medium-duty pre-owned trucks in North America. The company will use this facility to disassemble trucks, recondition the parts and distribute them.
Carl Heikel, President of Arrow Truck Sales said, "We are pleased to enter into a lease agreement of the Branwick Center in Floyd. The Branwick Center was chosen over others due to the readily available work force and the cooperation we received from Floyd County officials. The investment in this building will help us launch and grow our new Dex renovated-parts division. In addition to serving customer needs, this new venture will also support our corporate core value of environmental care by providing a complete system for responsibly recycling used vehicles."
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with the New River Valley Economic Development Alliance and Floyd County to secure the project for Virginia. The Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission will support the project by providing $50,000 in Tobacco Region Opportunity Funds.
David Ingram, Chairman of the Floyd County Board of Supervisors said, “The Board of Supervisors is very pleased to have Arrow Truck Sales locate in the County’s Commerce Center. In addition to the significant number of quality jobs they will provide, their investment in the building and community will help enhance and diversify the County’s economic base and tax base.”
