CHICAGO - Governor Mark R. Warner announced today that Reyes Holdings, LLC, a leader in the food and beverage distribution industry, will invest $7.5 million to acquire a warehouse and distribution facility that will employ 120 people in Prince George County within three years. Governor Warner made the announcement after meeting with company executives today during an economic development trip to Chicago.

The Prince George County facility, located at SouthPoint Industrial Park, will be operated by Reinhart FoodService LLC, which Reyes Holdings acquired in January. Reinhart FoodService, based in La Crosse, Wisconsin, is the third largest independent food service distributor in the United States.

“As Reyes Holdings continues to grow its business in the Mid-Atlantic region, the company was attracted to Prince George County because of its quality workforce and proximity to efficient transportation networks,” Governor Warner said. “The state partnered with local and regional officials on this project to effectively meet the needs of Reyes Holdings, and we celebrate this win for the Commonwealth.”

Headquartered in Rosemont, Illinois, Reyes Holdings currently ranks 30th on the 2004 Forbes list of privately held companies, and distributes beer and food products throughout the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Central, and South America.

“We are truly excited to add this facility in Virginia to our portfolio of real estate holdings,” said M. Jude Reyes, Co-Chairman of Reyes Holdings. “We were particularly attracted to Virginia’s pro-business climate and excellent infrastructure, as well as the site’s central location and proximity to major interstate highways.”

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with Prince George County and Virginia’s Gateway Region to secure the project for Virginia. The Virginia Department of Business Assistance will provide training assistance through its Workforce Services Program.

“Prince George County’s pro-economic development and pro-business board on behalf of our citizens has been so fortunate to have entered into such a successful public-private partnership with Joe Hollingsworth and The Hollingsworth Companies in the SouthPoint Industrial Park,” said Prince George County Board of Supervisors Chairman Joseph A. Leming, M.D. “Continuing to build on the foundation of success we gladly welcome Reyes Holdings, LLC, and their Reinhart Warehouse and Distribution Center to Prince George County. With our corporate partners we continue to strive to fulfill the vision that Prince George County is the best place to live, learn, work, and raise a family.”
