RICHMOND - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced an $8 million expansion of Nestlé Refrigerated Foods’ Danville facility that will provide 50 new jobs in the food processing industry. The company will expand its refrigerated cookie dough production capacity at the Nestlé facility located at 201 Airside in Danville’s Southside Industrial Park.

“Nestlé has been a leader in Danville for years, and to have such a solid company stay and grow is only good news,” Governor Warner said. “It says that Southside Virginia’s strong workforce is second to none.”

Nestlé Plant Manager Don Nodtvedt noted that the expansion will allow Nestlé to further grow its successful NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® refrigerated cookie dough business. “We appreciate the assistance we’ve received from both the Commonwealth of Virginia and the City of Danville as we made this decision. We also appreciate the continuing assistance from the state’s Workforce Services program. Obviously, training plays an important role in equipping new associates with the skills they need to succeed in our workplace. And our outstanding team here has helped NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® refrigerated dough products succeed in a very competitive category!”

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with the City of Danville to assist Nestlé with its expansion decision. The Virginia Department of Business Assistance will provide training for employees through its Workforce Services Program.

“Nestlé and the City of Danville are a winning combination," said Danville City Manager Jerry L. Gwaltney. "The company tapped into a locality that can meet all of its specialized production needs: a supportive business climate and an energized workforce needed to produce a superior product. We are extremely excited about the news today and look forward to Nestlé's continued growth in Danville."
