ROANOKE - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that Marvin Windows and Doors, a Minnesota-based corporation, has chosen Roanoke County’s Valley Gateway Business Park as the site of a new manufacturing facility for its line of Integrity Windows and Doors. Marvin, the largest made-to-order window and door manufacturer in the world, is known for its high-quality craftsmanship. The Integrity facility is expected to create 150 jobs within the next 30 months, and 350 by the end of 2008. Integrity plans to invest $32 million within the next five years, $15 million in Phase I and $17 million in Phase II. Virginia successfully competed with North Dakota for the project.

“My administration is working hard to create new economic opportunities in every region of the Commonwealth,” said Governor Warner. “Today’s announcement is great news for the people of the Roanoke Valley. Marvin Windows and Doors is an industry leader and an employer we are proud to welcome to Roanoke County and to the Commonwealth of Virginia.”

Integrity Windows and Doors was introduced in 1994 as a new line from Marvin. Integrity products feature exteriors made with Ultrex – an advanced fiberglass material that offers durability and performance. Integrity’s product line includes a wide range of standard-size windows and doors. This is the first company to locate in Valley Gateway, a mixed-used business park in eastern Roanoke County. “The Roanoke Valley’s strategic location and excellent business climate make this a natural choice for our new east coast operation,” said George G. Marvin, President of Integrity Windows. “The officials from Roanoke County, the Roanoke Valley Economic Development Partnership and the Commonwealth of Virginia went the extra mile in making us feel welcome.”

Governor Warner approved a $500,000 grant from the Governor’s Opportunity Fund to assist Roanoke County with the project. The Virginia Economic Development Partnership, the Roanoke Valley Economic Development Partnership, Roanoke County and Virginia Tech assisted Marvin Windows and Doors with its decision. The company qualifies for road access funding through the Virginia Department of Transportation. The Virginia Department of Business Assistance will provide workforce training services.

“We are very pleased that Marvin has chosen Roanoke County for the Integrity Windows and Doors manufacturing operation,” said Elmer Hodge, Roanoke County Administrator. “As a world leader within the window and door industry, the Marvin name brings with it a long-standing reputation for quality and craftsmanship. Coupled with Integrity’s progressive product line and refined technology, this makes the company a perfect fit for our community.”
