RICHMOND - The Virginia Economic Development Partnership’s (VEDP) Division of International Trade today announced plans to attend COMDEX Brazil 2002 to promote the export of Virginia products and services. The largest information technology trade show in Latin America, COMDEX will be held in São Paulo, Brazil August 20-23, 2002.

As part of its mission to provide Virginia businesses with the resources to develop new market opportunities for exporting, VEDP’s Division of International Trade is inviting Virginia companies to join the state at this trade show. Participating companies must cover their own travel costs and exhibit fees. In 2001, five Virginia companies joined VEDP at COMDEX Brazil.

This is Virginia’s fourth trip to COMDEX Brazil. Many Virginia companies who have attended the show in past years received orders, acquired major contracts or received requests for price quotations. Others made contacts for future export sales. This year, with COMDEX Brazil expecting 130,000 attendees, VEDP has reserved a 45-square-meter exhibit to showcase Virginia’s information technology industry. Virginia companies that attend COMDEX Brazil 2002 will also benefit from the ongoing support of Virginia’s trade office located in São Paulo, Brazil.
