RICHMOND - The Virginia Economic Development Partnership’s (VEDP) Division of International Trade will host a business delegation from Mexico May 13-17, 2002. A select group of 14 Mexican environmental and information technology companies will visit Richmond and Northern Virginia, seeking business partnerships with Virginia firms.

As part of its mission to promote the export of Virginia products and services, VEDP’s Division of International Trade invites Virginia companies interested in one-on-one appointments to contact the organization. Discussions will focus on the sale of Virginia products into Mexico and the commercial representation of Virginia products by Mexican companies. This is the fifth time that VEDP has hosted a group of foreign buyers in the past two years and the second visit by Mexican companies.

In 2001, Mexico was Virginia’s fourth largest export destination with more than $762 million in exports, nearly an 18 percent increase from 2000. VEDP will accompany Virginia companies to Mexico in December 2002 and March 2003. For more information or to schedule an appointment, contact Scott Kennedy, VEDP Events Manager, at (804) 371-0052.
