Civic Development Group invests $1.5 million in call center
Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that Civic Development Group will locate a new call center in the City of Harrisonburg. The company will invest $1.5 million in the facility and create 150 jobs in the Shenandoah Valley.
"Virginia is an ideal location for call centers," said Governor Gilmore. "The dedicated and skilled workforce in the Shenandoah Valley will contribute to Civic Development Group's continued success as they tap into Virginia's wealth of pro-business resources."
Civic Development Group is a full-service telemarketing company that provides direct sales for telecommunications and mortgage companies. Major clients include Fortune 100 corporations. Civic also provides fundraising services for non-profit organizations and conducts educational seminars. The company is one of the 10 largest telemarketing firms in the United States with approximately 3,200 employees operating in 18 centers from New Jersey to Texas. The Harrisonburg operation will be Civic's first center in Virginia.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership, the City of Harrisonburg and the Shenandoah Valley Partnership assisted the company with its decision. The Virginia Department of Business Assistance will provide workforce training services.
