Culpeper-based company expands

Culpeper County - Virginia Governor Jim Gilmore today attended a building dedication ceremony for Omni Services, Inc., in Culpeper County. Founded in 1972, Omni Services is the holding company which directs the corporate operation of three successful businesses: rus, sanis and arena first aid. The new headquarters facility will house 125 employees and create a $3.2 million investment.

"It is a pleasure to help dedicate this facility in honor of a respected Virginia-based company," Governor Gilmore said. "Omni Services employs more than 3,000 employees in the United States with 425 based right here in Culpeper. I thank this company for recognizing our commitment to existing industry and re-investing in the Commonwealth."

rus was founded as a family owned business in 1959 by the late N.B. Martin of Culpeper. The company leases a variety of industrial textiles such as rental uniforms, shop towels and entrance mats. Today, sixty-three rus locations operate in 23 states. sanis was founded in 1987 as a full service rest room supplies company providing soap, towel dispensers, toilet tissue and a patented waste disposal container to customers nationwide. The newest Omni business is arena first aid which manages customized first aid and drug testing programs.

During his remarks, Omni Services President and CEO Steve Lane thanked Governor Gilmore and the Commonwealth of Virginia for providing one of the most business-friendly environments in the United States. "A large part of our success is attributed to the favorable economy the state has created," he said. "We look forward to Omni's continued success in Virginia for years to come."

Governor Gilmore presented a Virginia flag to Omni President and CEO Steve Lane as a token of the state's appreciation. The County and Town of Culpeper assisted the company with its decision.
