RICHMOND - The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) today announced the acceptance of an Alexandria company, VSE Corporation, into its two-year Virginia Leaders in Export Trade (VALET) program. Launched in January 2002, the program assists exporters in the Commonwealth that have firmly established domestic operations and are committed to international exporting as an expansion strategy.

VSE Corporation joins the program as part of the 17th class of VALET companies. To participate, each eligible business must meet several quantitative criteria and complete an application process. Participating firms are chosen based on their dedication to growth through export. Currently, more than 100 Virginia companies have been accepted to participate in the VALET program.

VSE Corporation is the Federal services company of choice for solving issues of global significance with agility, integrity and value. VSE is dedicated to making its clients successful by delivering talented people and innovative solutions for program management, logistics, engineering and logistics, IT services, construction management and consulting. VSE and its wholly-owned subsidiaries, Energetics Incorporated; ICRC; and G&B Solutions, Inc., provide customers with competitive, cost-effective solutions to specific problems.

VSE Corporation achieved two major accomplishments recently—celebrating its 50th anniversary and attaining record revenues of more than $1 billion. VSE was recently showcased by Government Executive magazine as the #1 Best Defense Contractor (Small) in America two years in a row (2009/2008); Business Week’s #6 Hottest Growing Company in the U.S.(2008); and the Washington Post’s current #1 climber for industry in the Washington, D.C. metro area.

“Joining the VALET program is a pivotal step in expanding our presence in the international market,” said Maurice “Mo” Gauthier, VSE CEO/President/COO. “VSE has built a solid foundation and reputation of proven past performance and positive client feedback in the demanding foreign military sales market.”

The VALET program incorporates services from a team of experienced international service providers who assist the VALET companies with their international goals. Service providers such as attorneys, Web designers, bankers, translators and freight-forwarders contribute essential skills for expansion into international markets.

“VALET welcomes VSE Corporation into the program,” said Leslie Parpart, VALET Program Manager. “We look forward to working with its international team over the course of the next two years to assist the company in exceeding export goals.”
