RICHMOND - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that OPTIMUS Corporation, a leading provider of government information technology services, will invest $1.15 million to relocate its headquarters from Maryland. The project brings 234 new jobs to Fairfax County that include managers, professionals, technicians, and office and clerical positions.

“Virginia is thrilled to become OPTIMUS Corporation’s new home,” Governor Warner said. “This company’s history of success, and its numerous awards, including the 2003 National Capital Business Ethics Award, indicates that OPTIMUS will have a great impact on Fairfax County and the Commonwealth.”

Since 1992, OPTIMUS Corporation has delivered innovative information technology services to enhance public safety, health and national defense. OPTIMUS services increase efficiency, reduce transaction costs and help minimize risk- enabling government agencies to more quickly accomplish their objectives.

“OPTIMUS Corporation is pleased to have the opportunity to make an economic impact in such a pivotal state as Virginia, and we thank Governor Warner for his warm welcome,” stated OPTIMUS Founder and CEO Eric Adolphe. “We also extend our appreciation to the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority for its support and services. Our new location, in one of the nation’s most thriving counties, will enable us to better serve our customers while building the foundation for our next phase of growth.”

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority to secure the project for Virginia. The Virginia Department of Business Assistance will support the project with training assistance through its Workforce Services Program.

"I am delighted that OPTIMUS chose Fairfax County as the place to grow," said Gerald E. Connolly, Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. "Our highly skilled workforce and our location between the nation's capital and Washington Dulles International Airport make this the best business location in the region, and our quality of life makes this a tremendous place for people to live, work and play."
