RICHMOND - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that Home Care Delivered, Inc., a home health care products company, will invest $1.1 million in a new business development center in Mecklenburg County. The facility will be located in Virginia Lakeside Commerce Park, a joint endeavor by the Clarkesville Economic Development Authority, Chase City Industrial Development Authority and Mecklenburg County Industrial Development Authority. The Mecklenburg center will facilitate Home Cared Delivered’s national roll-out, extending its reach to health care professionals and caregivers across the country. Winning the project retains 50 positions at the company’s Henrico County corporate headquarters and will add an additional 147 new jobs within 30 months at the new facility in Mecklenburg County. Virginia successfully competed with Kentucky for the project.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with Mecklenburg County to secure the project for Virginia. The Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission approved $125,000 in Tobacco Region Opportunity Funds for the project. The Virginia Department of Business Assistance will support the project with training assistance through its Workforce Services Program. The company also qualifies for a Major Business Facility Job Tax Credit.

The county has suffered from a high unemployment rate and these jobs will bring hope to residents unable to find jobs after being displaced by plant closures.”
