RICHMOND - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that Care Rehab and Orthopaedic Products, Inc., a supplier of physical therapy equipment, will locate in the Charlotte County industrial park shell building in Keysville. Through a $3 million investment, the company will establish an assembly and distribution facility. The project will create 50 new jobs with higher-than-average salaries for the county. Currently importing products from Europe and Asia, Care Rehab has future plans to manufacture in Charlotte County as well. Virginia successfully competed with West Virginia and locations in Asia for the project.
“This is a significant announcement for Charlotte County,” said Governor Warner. “I am pleased to see this growing company select the county’s existing shell building for its newest facility. Through this investment, Care Rehab will create valuable job opportunities for the region.”
Care Rehab is a leading supplier of physical therapy equipment and supplies, offering a complete range of home rehabilitation products for the recovering patient. The company operates an existing office in McLean, Virginia with 52 employees, company-wide. Care Rehab currently exports its products internationally with the help of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership’s Division of International Trade.

Governor Warner approved a $100,000 grant from the Governor’s Opportunity Fund to assist Charlotte County with the project. The Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission will support the project with $250,000 in Tobacco Region Opportunity Funds. The Virginia Economic Development Partnership, Virginia’s Heartland and Charlotte County assisted Care Rehab with its decision. The company is eligible to receive tax credits because it is locating in an enterprise zone. The Virginia Department of Business Assistance will provide workforce training services.
