Richmond - Governor Jim Gilmore today announced that Invicta Networks will expand its headquarters facility in the Renaissance Park in Fairfax County. Invicta will hire 100 new employees through an investment of $3 million. The company originally relocated from Maryland to its current Herndon address in November 2000. Invicta will hire technical and managerial employees as well as research and development staff.
"One of my principal goals as Governor has been to foster a financial climate in which Virginia businesses contemplating expansion do so here in the Digital Dominion," Governor Gilmore said. "This announcement shows we are achieving that goal. I commend Invicta Networks for its fast-paced expansion efforts."
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership and the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority assisted Invicta Networks with its decision. The Virginia Department of Business Assistance will provide workforce training services.
Invicta Networks has developed the next generation of multi-layer cyber security technology. Based on proprietary technology, this new process provides users with a level of network security protection unobtainable with any product or combination of products currently on the market. The technology directly responds to the most significant network security concerns of organizations that require the highest level of protection available for their proprietary data, sensitive personal information,
and the work products of research and development.
"Our decision to relocate our corporate headquarters and company operations to Virginia was an easy one," said Invicta Networks President Victor Sheymov. "The Dulles Technology Corridor in Northern Virginia is ideally suited for a fast growing company such as Invicta. The base of qualified technical employees is plentiful; proximity to transportation and communications hubs facilitates all of our operations; excellent, well-managed office and laboratory space is abundant; and the support of Virginia and Fairfax County government offices has been remarkable. Virginia has demonstrated to us that they want to help us succeed and we are committed to succeed in Virginia."
"The Digital Dominion is home to more than half of the world's daily Internet traffic flow," said Secretary of Commerce and Trade Barry E. DuVal. "Invicta's decision to locate in Virginia was a win-win situation for the Commonwealth and the company as evidenced by this expansion announcement."
"Invicta is ideally suited for Fairfax County in terms of the technology it is developing and the work force it will need. We're delighted that this company has joined us and is adding to the technical expertise found in the county," said Gerald L. Gordon, Ph.D., President and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority.
