Lindsay Akers leads External Affairs for VEDP, overseeing government relations, policy coordination, and partner engagement across the Commonwealth. She works closely with state leadership, legislators, and internal teams to align policy, budget priorities, and economic development initiatives that support business growth and long-term competitiveness. Additionally, she manages targeted outreach efforts that connect VEDP leadership with stakeholders statewide to share insights, identify emerging trends, and better understand opportunities and challenges in real time.

Lindsay brings deep experience in legislative affairs and stakeholder engagement, with a strong track record of advancing policy initiatives and supporting major economic development efforts. Lindsay has been a key member of the VEDP team in multiple roles, most notably as Director of Government Relations for VEDP’s External Affairs team. Prior to returning to VEDP, she served as the Legislative Director for the Office of the Attorney General of Virginia, where she managed policy development, legislative strategy, and budget priorities. Before joining VEDP in 2019, she worked at the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development, where she contributed to the launch of GO Virginia, helping foster regional collaboration and economic growth across the Commonwealth.
