The Virginia Office of Education Economics 

The Virginia Office of Education Economics (VOEE) was created by legislation and established in 2021. VOEE’s mission is to leverage data to inform educational programming, policy, and workforce partnerships across the Commonwealth. VOEE’s analyses are intended to inform policy and practice on the availability, quality, and supply of talent in Virginia.

key initiatives

VOEE works closely with key partners throughout the Commonwealth including Virginia Department of Labor, Virginia Secretary of Commerce & Trade, State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV), higher education institutions, Virginia Department of Education, Virginia Employment Commission, GO Virginia, Virginia Board of Workforce Development, and other workforce partners to collaboratively offer resources and expertise related to education and labor market alignment. The team provides a unified, consistent source of analysis for policy development and implementation related to talent development.

Provide a unified, consistent source of analysis for policy ed and implementation related to talent creation and development

Offer resources and data related to regional education and labor market alignment

Megan Healy leads Virginia’s workforce strategy efforts, helping businesses access and build the skilled talent needed for growth and expansion. Her role includes overseeing major statewide initiatives such as the Virginia Talent Accelerator Program, Virginia Office of Education Economics, RTSBO, and InternshipsVA, all focused on aligning workforce development with economic growth.
